Frequently asked questions

How much waste should I add for parquet?

Add 8–10% for straight-lay floors and 15% for herringbone or diagonal patterns.

What underlay do I need under parquet?

Use a 2–3 mm acoustic underlay for floating engineered floors; solid parquet is usually glued or nailed without underlay.

Can I lay parquet on screed?

Yes — screed must be flat, dry (< 2% CM moisture) and fully cured before installation.

How long to acclimatise wood flooring?

Leave the packs unopened in the room for at least 48–72 hours before installation.
